    Who is in your inner circle? Recently, we had the Who is in your inner circle? Recently, we had the esteemed pleasure of meeting Lerin Lockwood, CEO of @lionlatch_jewelrytotes . She is a teacher, coach, and entrepreneur and has been featured on @goodmorningamerica , @theviewabc , and interviewed for @sharktankabc. She is a smart and savvy business woman and gave us many tips when it comes to starting and scaling your business. Lion Latch was an invention of necessity that Lockwood came up with as a functional solution to always losing her jewelry due to her active lifestyle. It is a small plastic tote made for rings and other small items. Originally 3D printed, the Lion Latch is now produced quicker and more efficiently in molds that Lockwood was able to purchase due to a successful crowdfunding campaign. ⁠ ⁠ She left us with lots of golden tips when it comes to crowdfunding, but the most important one is "think of who is closest to you." When promoting your campaign, start with the people your the innermost circle. This may be parents, friends, or teachers. By starting with people you already know, they have a rapport and trust with you. These people are more likely to assist you on your journey to entrepreneurship.     How do you define courage? When we first started o How do you define courage? When we first started on our journey to Kid Everest we were scared. Terrified even. We did not want to start social media accounts, or show our face on our feeds. We were nervous about hate or negativity towards what we were trying to do: help kids start their journey toward entrepreneurship. ⁠ ⁠ But eventually, we realized that if we did not conquer that fear, we would not be able to help all the young CEOs that we wanted to. It would be difficult to tell others to push aside their fears, put themselves out there, and start a business if we weren't going to do the same. So we opened up more. We surrounded ourselves with amazing young entrepreneurs that had already conquered this fear. We gained confidence from seeing the success of those around us and that motivated us to grow. Our desire to help others outweighed everything else. ⁠ ⁠ We began holding IG lives, reaching out to more entrepreneurs, and just put ourselves out there. By doing this we have been able to expand our business to all over the US and Canada, been interviewed by international magazines, and met some truly amazing people.⁠ ⁠ The fear is still there sometimes, but it is dissolving. With each live, interview, or positive comment we get, we gain confidence and motivation to keep it up. We recently discovered another website that with an idea almost identical to ours. Although we knew that competition would eventually be inevitable, it still made us a bit weary about it.
