Telling Your Story

Your business is obviously very meaningful to you. Now how can you share that passion with others? An important part of your campaign will be sharing your story. The most successful campaigns show backers why the idea or invention is important or how it can benefit others.

When telling your story, make your idea come alive. Translate your passion and love for your idea and share it in your words. Potential backers will be more likely to donate when they can share an emotional connection to your project.

Here are a few questions to help you get started:

  1. Who are you? Introduce yourself (first name only).
  2. What’s your idea? Describe your project, business, or invention.
  3. How did you come up with this idea? You have a unique background that is only yours. Share how you came up with this idea based on who you are.
  4. Why should others care? This is a big one. Backers will want to be able to resonate with your idea. They want to see why it would be important should your campaign be fully funded and backed.
