Building the Kidpreneur Mindset

Learning to live the Entrepreneur Mindset can be difficult. Being a natural “go-getter” may not be you. You may be timid or shy or scared to stretch out of your comfort zone. And that’s okay! We here at Kid Everest want to help you! Your greatest achievements will always be when you step outside your comfort zone. You can do it. Let’s do it together!

Building an Entrepreneur Mindset requires effort. Here are some quick steps for building your Entrepreneur Mindset and acknowledging your amazing abilities.

  1. PLAN: Wanting to become an entrepreneur is wonderful, but how are you going to get there? You are going to need a plan and you will need to stick to it. Imagine this ridiculous example. You have your GPS set to Entrepreneur Town. It gives you all the directions on exactly how to get there. You can do this too. Map out a plan by starting where you are now, and where you want to end up. Then fill in all the little steps that you will need to take along the way. The journey won’t seem so challenging when taken one step at a time.
  2. ACTION: Having a plan is great. HOWEVER, setting that GPS on your goal and where you want to be is only going to work if you do. You can’t get to Entrepreneur Town by sitting on the couch playing FortNite. (you know who you are…) You will have to take ACTION. Try to focus on accomplishing just one step in your plan each day. If you do, you will be at your goal in no time. Remember, if you do get distracted by the group chat blowing up your phone, or do catch yourself playing video games, acknowledge these distractions as a detour on your plan and keep moving forward. Giving in to distractions won’t take you off your plan, but the detours they cause may prolong your trip before reaching your destination.
  3. PATIENCE: Nothing comes easily on your trek to Entrepreneur Town. There will be hills and mountains, twists and turns and bumps in the road. Stay your path. Take each obstacle one at a time. Do not give up. Everyone’s journey is different, and anyone who continues to keep taking action will get there. I promise. Stay focused, follow your plan and push through barriers and around detours. Remain patient. Good things are coming.
  4. BE YOURSELF: You are unique! Everything about you is different and interesting. No one has had the same life experiences as you. You are the only one who sees the world as you do. And that is amazing. Do well in English? Become a tutor. A basketball phenom? Hold clinics after school for a small fee. Have the best locker location in the school? Sell candy. If you take the time to think about what you are good at, I know you can go far.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
